Free ATS resume checker and CV analysis
Check that applicant tracking systems can read your CV, and get a score out of 100 with concrete advice.
What the ATS check looks at
An ATS (applicant tracking system) sorts CVs before a recruiter reads them. If it can't read yours, your application can be discarded without being seen. The check covers six points, on top of the score out of 100:
- File reading — The file text can be extracted, rather than being an image or a scan.
- Contact details — Your email and phone number are recognised.
- Section headings — Experience, Education and Skills use standard headings.
- Dates — The years of your jobs and qualifications are readable.
- Characters — No icons or unreadable characters in place of text.
- Layout — No columns or tables that scramble the reading order.
This check covers what an ATS can read, not the quality of your CV: that is what the score out of 100 is for.
